The release of InCa3D version 2.1 1 September 2008

CEDRAT announces the release of InCa3D version 2.1 for the parasitic extraction of 3D conductor structures. With this new major upgrade, InCa3D pushes back the frontiers of cabling modelling and opens new perspectives to engineers and scientists.

There is no equivalent to InCa3D’s rapidity to compute parasitic elements (R L M) of 3D interconnection structures in the domains of:

  • Electronics and power electronics: wire or clip bondings, DBC, PCB or even complete internal cabling structure inside power modules…

  • Power engineering: busbars for high frequency applications, busways for high current distribution, switchboards…

Boosting Innovation with Virtual Prototyping
Thanks to numerous advanced functionalities like the scripting, the possibility to fully parameterize geometries and a large variety of results InCa3D makes innovation easier and quicker. Thanks to the latest developments added to the software virtual prototyping has never been so accessible and efficient.

InCa3D Version 2.1 Highlights
- New solver for enhanced simulation capabilities (conductors in any directions, complex profiles…)
- 64 bits compatibility
- Tube conductors: complex profiles, automatic frequency-dependent mesh
- 3D display of electric components
- Automatic creation of connections
- Check Physics functionality
- Speed-up of post processing computations
- Improved post processing functionalities (arrow display, 2D curves, formula editor…)
- Export of PEEC model to Portunus software and MAST, Spice and Modelica format

2008 Flux Users Conference 17 April 2008

For the event, which again promises to be fulfilling experience, we have created a dedicated website. It contains all the information you will need to sign up for the conference and make the very most of it. Please note that you can register directly on the website.

Should you be interested in learning more about our software solutions, we are organising pre-conference training courses (Pyflux, Flux, InCa3D, Portunus) in Terassa, near Barcelona on October 7-8th. All the details of these training sessions are also on the website. We will be updating it  in real-time, so advise you to consult it regularly.

Hoping you will grasp this opportunity to  join us in Barcelona!

Flux V10.2 : what is new ? 02 June 2008

In a global context of design process optimisation and time-to-market reduction, CEDRAT Group is proud to announce the release of Flux V10.2.

In this new patch we focused on 2 areas :
- Quality improvements : especially on meshing
- Connection of Flux to other software solutions

To know more about the new features of Flux V10.2, our flagship software solution, please refer to the article published in our magazine CEDRAT News.

1st CEDRAT Academic paper contest 8 April 2008

CEDRAT invites all students pursuing a master or a PhD degree and using the simulation software programs it provides (Flux, Motor-CAD, SPEED, Portunus, InCa3D, PSCAD, CIVAnde) to participate to the 1st Cedrat Academic Paper Contest

What could you win ?
The award is a laptop, a publication of the paper in our “CEDRAT News” magazine and a travel expense partially-paid trip to Cedrat’s FLUX Users Conference.

Submit your topic directly as a final paper before the deadline.  If selected, you will present your paper to an audience of your peers at the 2008 FLUX users Conference to be held in Barcelona, Spain on October 9–10th. Paper proposal deadline is 30 July 2008.

Release of Portunus V2.1 22 February 2008

With V2.1 a new generation of this versatile simulation package is available for the first time. It expands the capabilities of the software family provided by the CEDRAT Group and its partners.

The main focus of the development work has been providing a base for the integration of description languages. As a first result of these efforts, net lists in the SPICE format can be integrated into Portunus simulations. With PORTUNUS 2.1 SPICE net lists can be handled in a similar way to all other model types available in Portunus. Special features such as an integrated net list editor with syntax colouring and the improvements in the library management make the import as convenient as possible.

With the new Portunus version a major update of the THERMAL LIBRARY is available as well. It has been expanded with new models to calculate the heat transfer within cylinders, power electronic devices and heat sinks. New components can be used for the coupling of electrical and thermal simulations. Improvements in the graphical user interface now allow the complete parameterisation of the models of the THERMAL LIBRARY. With this feature the effects of geometry variations can be investigated automatically using the parameter variation options offered by Portunus.

The implementation of new models for the simulation of translational movement expands the Portunus capabilities in terms of mechanical systems. This is accompanied with the new ability to handle three-dimensional look-up tables and it is especially useful for the modelling of electro-mechanical systems.

A promising partnership with ONERA ! 25 January 2008

CEDRAT TECHNOLOGIES has signed the Onera-SME partnership charter, a step forward in a prosperous collaboration started 5 years ago...when CEDRAT TECHNOLOGIES participated in the RPA (Rotor à Pales Actives) Franco-German project with ONERA and developed Amplified Piezo Actuators for active flap devices. The goal was to find the best location for piezo actuators on a helicopter wing to ensure flaps control and the damping of vibration and noise. The test results performed by the French aerospace research centre ONERA were very promising and CEDRAT TECHNOLOGIES' APAs proved to be robust and strong in energy density.
